Brick Sealing and Concrete Sealing
One of our core services each summer is brick sealing and concrete sealing. Brick and concrete sealing is an often overlooked service that really adds beauty to ones property.
There are many benefits of sealing your concrete and brick such as:
Provides protective barrier on surface of brick and concrete.
Protects against joint sand erosion.
Protects against the suns harmful UV rays that fade the surface colour.
Prevents vegetation such as moss and weeds.
Prevents oil and other liquids from staining the pavers and concrete.
The biggest benefit is that sealing ENHANCES the beauty of the pavers colour!
We get all our products through BC Brick and are proud to be their go to company when referring sealing contractors in Vancouver.
You can check out our photo gallery of before and after work here.
Due to the weather constraints in Vancouver we only have a window of approximately 2.5 months to do brick sealing and concrete sealing so don’t delay, click here to request a free consultation!
The following steps are performed for each and every job:
1 - Pressure wash surface thoroughly removing dirt and vegetation from the surface and brick joints.
2 - Pour polymer sand over brick surface and using a stiff bristle brush we broom the sand over the pavers to ensure the sand falls into all the paver joints.
3 - Where necessary, using a compactor go over sanded surface to agitate pavers so sand settles.
4 - Using a blower, blow all excess sand off the surface of the pavers.
5 - Spray a light mist over the pavers to moisten the polymer sand, wait 3-4 minutes, then mist and rinse the pavers to remove any excess polymer sand on the paver surface. Repeat if necessary.
6 - We then wait two days and come back to apply efflorescence cleaner. First we soak the pavers thoroughly.
7 - Then using a brush, we scrub the pavers with efflorescence remover.
8 - We then rinse the area for a few hours.
9 - Wait two days.
10 - Using a commercial hand pump sprayer and back rolling with a roller we seal the pavers using low VOC concrete sealer
11 - If the area sealed is a driveway, we suggest keeping traffic off for 24 hours. If the area is for pedestrian traffic only, 4-8 hours is sufficient, depending on the weather.
After all this is completed you will have a completely rejuvenated patio or driveway.
